Travelling By Air

Halifax Stanfield International Airport is the region's principal full-service airport providing passengers with access to the United States and Europe, and the only airport in Atlantic Canada to offer U.S. preclearance. The U.S. preclearance facility, located at the far end of the terminal building, will allow non-stop U.S. bound passengers to go through U.S. Customs and Border Protection prior to their departure. Travelling By Rail

VIA Rail Canada offers trans-continental connection with Western Canadian cities, and some US destinations. The Halifax railway station is located directly adjacent to the Westin Nova Scotian Hotel in downtown Halifax. For more information please see VIA Rail Canada.

By Car

The Trans-Canada Highway enters Nova Scotia from New Brunswick, and provides a connection to all points in the United States and Canada. The Confederation Bridge links Prince Edward Island to New Brunswick and then Nova Scotia by that same highway system. Various coach companies provide transportation alternates to Halifax from New York and Montreal and other parts of Nova Scotia.
