Submission Procedures
Technical papers
We solicit submissions of technical papers presenting relevant contributions to research, development, and
practice in all areas of assistive technologies and universal accessibility. All technical papers will be
peer-reviewed and only submissions presenting significant scientific advances will be accepted. All accepted
papers will be presented at the ASSETS 2006 conference.
Submissions are limited in length to 8 pages and will
appear in the formal Conference Proceedings. Arrangements are in progress to forward a selected set of the best
technical papers presented at the conference for publication in a special issue of the journal "Disability and
Rehabilitation: Assistive Technologies".
Posters and demonstrations
The Conference will also offer a session dedicated to poster presentations and demonstrations of research
products and tools. Posters and demonstration proposals (i.e. extended abstracts) are limited in length to 2 pages. Extended abstracts will be
reviewed, and accepted extended abstracts will be included in the conference proceedings.
Doctoral Consortium and Student Research Competition
Submissions to the Doctoral Consortium and the Student Research Competition are limited in length to 2 pages.
Paper formatting
All papers should be prepared according to the ACM conference format.
Papers should be formatted for letter paper size (8.5" by 11").
Please note that maximum paper lengths include all figures, tables and references. Papers that are over the maximum length permitted
or incorrectly formatted may be rejected without review.

Paper acceptance notification
Paper acceptance decisions will be made by 12:00 midnight Hawaii Standard Time on Monday 3rd July. Acceptance notifications will be sent out
no later than Tuesday 4th July.
Language
While the official language of the
conference is English, American Sign Language interpreters will be provided upon request for
all ASSETS technical sessions and
events. Requests for an interpreter must be indicated on the conference
registration form when registering for ASSETS 2006.
